Tissuemed exhibited at the Annual Meeting of UK CardioThoracic surgeons (SCTS) held in Birmingham this week(13-15th March 2016). In addition to attracting delegates from our shores, the meeting had a distinctly international feel, with visitors and notable guest speakers from around the world, evidence that it’s becoming one of the major events in its specialty.
On show was TissuePatch™ sealant film, a product with application across numerous specialties, but which was originally designed to prevent post-operative air leaks, an occupational hazard during lung surgery. By avoiding complications associated with post-surgical air leak the product offers the potential to reduce healthcare costs. associated with prolonged hospital stay.
