Tissuemed are pleased to announce the early publication (ahead of print) of a new clinical paper by neurosurgeons at the University of Bonn, Germany, detailing the use of TissuePatchDural in a number of patients undergoing intradural neurosurgical procedures.
During the course of this 25 patient series, TissuePatchDural was used by 10 different neurosurgeons in the Department of Neurosurgery. The authors, Christian von der Brelie, Martin Soehle and Hans Clusmann used TissuePatchDural when a CSF leak was detected, either spontaneous or having raised the intrathecal pressure. Follow-up ranged from 3 to 12 months.
Dr von der Brelie reported, “Safety, promising effectiveness and convincing handling features of a new bioabsorbable synthetic dural sealant have been demonstrated in this neurosurgical series”.
Dr David Mandley, Tissuemed’s CEO commented, “This publication demonstrates the benefits of TissuePatchDural as the next generation of dural sealant. It is safe and effective and offers fast intra-operative sealing of the dura by a controlled targeted adhesion”.
