Tissuemed applies itself exclusively to the task of researching, developing and manufacturing proprietary polymers and films for use as surgical sealants.

Applying advanced chemistry to today’s surgical demands

Using unique and very sophisticated processes the company applies proprietary polymers in “fused multilaminate” sheets to manufacture very thin films that act as barriers to air, blood and other fluid leaks encountered during surgical procedures. These “films” require no advance preparation, are easy to apply and are extremely adherent to target tissues.

Indications

TissuePatch, built on a multi-layer, multi-component technology can have different characteristics “dialled in” as appropriate by our development team to address the very specific demands of different surgical environments and tissue types. For this reason the range of potential indications is enormous. Today’s products are in daily use for sealing air leaks in lung surgery, cerebro-spinal fluid leaks in brain and spinal surgery and on a variety of organs in general surgery where blood and fluid leakage needs to be prevented.
